How to remove blackheads with honey? / Honey blackhead mask

Blackheads are a result of clogged hair follicle due to the accumulation of excess oil secretion from the sebaceous gland, dead skin, and dirt. These first appear as whiteheads on the skin of the face, on the nose and the chin and also on the neck, back, arms and the chest and later turns black in color as it comes in contact with the air. There are a few home remedies to remove blackheads but these have to be followed regularly to keep blackheads at bay.

Honey helps to remove blackheads as it has the following properties

  • It is antibiotic in nature, and brings out the dirt that has accumulated in the pores, thus getting rid of blackheads. It also tightens the skin and keeps it hydrated and makes the skin look and feels clean and fresh.
  • It also helps to bring the natural shine of the skin back by moisturizing and nourishing it and peeling off the blackheads from the skin.
  • Honey is a natural antiseptic, antioxidant, and anti-bacteria which helps it to efficiently get rid of blackheads by keeping germs away from the clogged pores.

Honey when used raw

Apple cider vinegar remedy for blackheads

Warm some honey and apply it on the affected areas of the face and leave it on for sometime before washing with warm water, followed by cold water. This has to be done a couple of times in a week to get rid of the blackheads.

Warm honey with apples

Warm honey mixed with apples, that have been made into a pulp, with some chopped mint and some cornmeal, all together made into a thick paste and applied on the affected areas of the face and left on for some time,  before being washed off with some lukewarm water can work wonders, if the process is done regularly.

Honey with tomato

Home remedies for whiteheads

Honey and tomato juice mixed with oatmeal and made into a paste, can be used to scrub the affected areas and let it remain for about 10 minutes to dry, before washing it with water. This has to be done regularly to get rid of blackheads.

Honey with egg

Honey mixed with egg white can be applied to the face and allowed to dry before washing off with water. This method if done frequently can prevent the formation of blackheads and also nourishes and rejuvenates the skin.

Honey with oatmeal

Honey along with ground oatmeal and with an egg white can be mixed to prepare a mask, which can be applied on to the affected areas and then gently massaged for a couple of minutes before washing off with water. The process has to be repeated to yield the desired result.

Honey with lemon

Raw honey on half a lemon piece and a pinch of baking soda can be used to scrub the face, especially on the affected areas, and left on for a few minutes before washing it off with some cold water. This has to be done twice a week for removing blackheads.
