Cucumber is a well-known home remedy for dark under eye circles. Cucumber has astringent and natural skin lightening properties that can help in reducing dark circles. Slice refrigerated cucumbers and place the slices directly on your eyes covering the dark circles for 10 minutes. For more effectiveness soak cotton pads in cucumber juice and place the pads onto your eyes for 20 minutes. After that, give a wash with plain water. This remedy also provides a soothing and refreshing effect.

Cucumber and Lemon juice

You can also use cucumber juice with lemon juice for quick results.  Mix 2 spoons of freshly prepared cucumber juice with a few drops of lemon juice and apply it over the dark eye area. Leave it for 10 to 15 minutes and then rinse off with plain water. Try this remedy for a week or ten days to see visible improvements.

Potato juice for under eye dark circles

Blend a peeled, small raw potato and squeeze out the juice. Soak cotton balls in the potato juice and place them on your eyes to cover the dark circles. Leave on for 20 minutes or moreand then wash off with normal waterafter removing the cotton pads.

Alternatively, you can also apply the potato juice around the eyes by using cotton balls and wash off after 15 minutes or as it gets dry.Simply keeping the potato slices on your eyes for 10-15 minutes daily can also give good results.

Rose water

Rose water can help you to get rid of those stubborn dark circles.Take two cotton balls and soak them in rose water. Place them on your closed eyes and relax for 15 minutes. Follow up with a moisturizer. Rose water will provide skin soothing effect and will also make you feel fresh. Follow this remedy two times a day for a few weeks to geteffective results.

Almond and Milk

Almond and Milk can be a very effective remedy for treating under eye dark circles. Soak 4-5 almonds in milk overnight and in the morning crush them to make a smooth paste. Now take 1 spoon of fresh milk in a clean bowl and add 1 spoon of the almond paste in it. Mix the two ingredients and apply this paste directly on the dark circles. Corn flour and curd

Cold tea bags

Use of cold tea bags for removing dark circles and soothing the eyes is a common treatment. Seep two tea bags in lukewarm water for 2 minutes and then place them in the fridge to cool down. Place these cold tea bags on the eyes and leave on for 10 minutes or more. Use of green tea bags instead of the normal tea can enhance the effect.

A pack of rose petals and milk can be actually effective to clear the skin discoloration around the eyes.  Take few fresh rose petals and smash them to make a smooth paste. Mix 1 spoon of milk with this paste and apply it onto the dark circles around the eyes. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and then wash off with water.

Aloe vera with almond oil

Aloe Vera is known for its properties to nourish and soothe the skin. Almond oil is also rich in Vitamin E which can be helpful to nourish the skin and to lighten the skin tone of the under eye area. Aloe Vera also gives a skin tightening effect which can be helpful to reduce the fine lines under the eyes.

Collect fresh Aloe Vera pulp from 1 Aloe Vera leaf and take 1 spoon of this thick gel like substance in a clean container. Add 1 spoon of almond oil to it and mix well. You need to apply this mixture directly to the skin of the affected area. Once you apply, just relax with your eyes closed for 20 minutes and then remove the pack with damp and soft cotton.  Do not splash water.

Turmeric with carrot seed oil

Turmeric has natural skin lightening and skin healing properties while carrot seed oil is known for its high content of Vitamin A and other antioxidants that can be very effective to get a soft and bright skin tone. For making this concoction, use raw and fresh turmeric roots instead of the turmeric powder that we use in the kitchen.

Grind some turmeric roots and squeeze out the juice. Take 2 spoons of this turmeric juice in a clean bowl and mix 2-3 drops of carrot seed oil in this mixture. Now you can apply this liquid to the skin of the affected area with the help of a new cotton ball. However, make it a point that in no way the liquid can get into your eyes.  Let the liquid stay for 10 minutes and then remove by splashing normal water. Before you take this treatment it is also important to go for a patch test to ensure that you are not getting any allergies from the carrot seed oil.
