Summer is actually good for skin health because we sweat a lot naturally in this season without going to gym. Sweating opens up skin pores and let the skin breathe but at the same time, it brings the problems of dry skin, sun tan and sunburn too. Nevertheless, with little care we can get glowing skin without much effort even in summer.

Yoghurt and potato pack

Finely mince one boiled potato and mix it with fresh yoghurt. Apply the pack on your face and then rinse it off. This not only reduces the tan but also keeps your skin smooth and soft.

During summer avoid eating heavy and oily food; in fact, you should eat less than you normally eat and increase your liquid intake and drink kinds of fluids like buttermilk, lemonade, fruit juices and water. Eat fresh and seasonal fruits like coconut, melon or anything available in your local market. You should avoid eating ice-cream or other cold stuff which mostly popular during summer, it only helps in gaining weight and reduce your water intake, instead you should take more things like fruit or vegetable salad, clear soup or stock.

Exfoliate

For the removal of dead skin which gets collected on the face and on many other parts of the body, exfoliation is very much needed. For scrubbing the dead skin off the body use an exfoliating sponge or a massager. By making a paste of oatmeal, milk and besan you can prepare a homemade scrubber. Rub the scrubber gently on your body in circular motion for at least 3 minutes and the wash it off. Do this process 2 to 3 times a week.

If you want you can also mix and honey and juice of lemon in equal proportions then put it on your face for 20 minutes. This is considered to be one of the simplest tans removing solution. Applying cucumber juice also will soothe and neutralize your skin and will reduce the harsh sun rays effects. You can also make a paste using 1 teaspoon of gram flour, 1 teaspoon of milk and few drops of the juice of lime. Apply that paste on your face keeping it for 30 minutes. This will provide you with face glow and radiance.

Sunscreen

It will not only prevent darkening of skin and damages in the skin but also prevents harsh UVA rays which can cause skin cancer. Go for a sunscreen which is waterproof and apply it every 2 hours. Try not to go out between 10 am to 4 pm because during that time the sun rays are the harshest and can cause adverse effects to your skin.
