Known for its medicinal and healing properties, turmeric extract has been used in a number of cosmetic and beauty products all across the world, but today, we are dealing with the actual product, right from the source, for much more effective and quicker results.
What are the skin benefits of Turmeric?
Turmeric is almost an all rounder spice that works in a multitude of ways to make you look younger, brighter and healthier without causing any side effects. Let’s look at some of the most wonderful benefits of turmeric for your skin.
Reduces oil production
If you have oily skin, it can make your face look duller and caked. Turmeric helps by controlling the sebum secretion on the top layer of your skin, which in turn, reduces bacteria accumulation.
Controls acne
When the sebum is reduced, the amount of bacteria attacking that sebum for food is also reduced. Thus, your face is not as prone to acne as before. It also reduces the redness and swelling caused by acne.
It reduces scars
The scars left on the face by acne or otherwise can be visibly reduced due to the medicinal properties of turmeric, which is why it has also been used to treat keloid scar tissue. It can also soothe the skin.
Reduces tanning and gives glowing skin
Turmeric can remove signs of tanning, dark circles around your eyes and patches of uneven pigmentation across your neck and face, making your skin glow and lighten your complexion.
Reduces wrinkles
The curcuminoid pigments in turmeric promote the body to produce an abundance of antioxidants that fight free radicals, which in turn are responsible for making your skin appear saggy and wrinkly with old age.
