Blackheads appear on the face, in the nose and chin area, in the neck, back and the chest is caused when the pores of the hair follicles get clogged due to deposition of excessive oil that is secreted from the sebaceous gland, along with dirt and dead cells of the skin. These appear as whiteheads and later turn black on coming in contact with air. These can be seen in people of all skin types, but those who have oily skin are the most affected. As these appear on the facial skin it hampers the look, making the face look dull and aged.
There are many products available on the market that can help, but certain home remedies can work wonders in solving this beauty hazard. It has been seen that honey can help to remove these blackheads when used in the raw form or with some other ingredients. Honey being a natural antiseptic, antioxidant, antibiotic and antibacterial, can free the pores, by destroying germs and deeply cleanses the deposited dirt and other impurities that are the main cause of blackheads.
Honey can be mixed with lemon juice, baking soda, flour, egg white or green tea to make face packs which when used regularly can remove blackheads. Likewise, when honey is mixed with cinnamon and used as a mask it can get rid of blackheads as cinnamon has the capability to remove blackheads as it has antimicrobial properties. Cinnamon also helps in circulation and makes the skin rejuvenated.
Procedure
- Mix cinnamon powder and honey in the ratio 1:3 to make a thick paste. This has to be applied gently to the affected area so that it forms a thick layer. Leave it on for some time before washing off with lukewarm water. There will be some noticeable change in the number of blackheads will lessen even after the first application. Therefore to get rid of all the blackheads this method has to be done frequently.
- The above said face pack can be used on the affected area in the night and left on overnight too. Wash off with water the next morning. Continue doing it for 10 days to get the desired result.
- To keep the nose area clear of blackheads and acne, a mixture of cinnamon powder and organic honey can be applied all over the nose, on the affected area, forming a thin layer and press some cotton wool over it and leave it on for 5 minutes before washing it off with water. Then moisturize the area.
- Take ½ teaspoon cinnamon stick powder and mix with a little bit of honey to make a very thick paste and apply on the chin, where the blackheads are very stubborn, and scrub the area in a circular motion. Then wash off with water. There will be a remarkable change in the number of blackheads. This process has to be repeated often to keep the chin area clean and without blackheads.
