Safety measures for using essential oils

Do not apply essential oil without dilution. For sensitive skin, this can be harmful. Always dilute an essential oil with a carrier oil such as jojoba oil, argan oil, primrose oil, and sesame oil. You can use a ratio of 3 drops of essential oil to 1 ½ tsp of carrier oil. You can do a check, apply the diluted mixture on the thigh of your hand and leave it for 1 to 2 hours. If there are any ill effects such as dryness, dilute it even further. Avoid using essential oils while you are pregnant and lactating.
