The confidence you feel when you smell good is unmistakable! So is the repulsion from your own body when it is stinking. There are too many causes of body odour, the most common ones include yeast infection, sweating, stress and menstruation. Here are some tips you can try to get rid of body odour:
Essential oils
You can make excellent natural deodorants with them. Mix 5 drops each of sage, coriander, lavender essential oils in about 60ml of distilled witch hazel, and store in spray bottle or can. Apply this after shower to smell like a garden all day long.
Crystal rock
This is extremely suitable for removing underarm odour. Crystal rocks contain mineral salt and have antiperspirant quality that helps in blocking your sweat glands.
Baking soda
This is a natural remedy to get rid of body odour. It helps absorb perspiration even when used in a pinch.
Apple cider vinegar
This is a natural antiseptic so all you need to do is spritz it in the areas and just wipe it off and you are ready to go.
Change our diet
If your diet consists of a lot of onion, curry, garlic and spicy foods and caffeinated drinks, try decreasing those from your diet as those foods can actually make your body odour problems stronger.
Lemon
The most effective and cost-efficient way to get rid of body odour. Rub a slice under your arms, pat it dry to create a ph balance where bacteria find really hard to survive. It is perfect after you shower.
DIY deodorant
Get some coconut oil, add some starch to it and some baking soda as well. You can add some essential oils for added benefits. This is really absorbent and will go powdery within hours of storage.
Some old-fashioned feet care
One of the notorious sights of body odour is the feet! Salt is a very effective means of killing bacteria. Soak your feet in warm water and salt every now and then, to prevent them from stinking or simply for detoxification.
Wheatgrass juice
This may not be known to many but chlorophyll is an active agent for fighting foul smell. It works wonders even of you just drink the water that had been used to soak wheatgrass. For making the solution you will have mix about two spoons of wheatgrass juice in two fourth glass of water. Stir it in well and drink it. With each day, increase the quantity of wheatgrass juice for better results.
Shaving
It seems like an obvious tip but it really helps exfoliate the skin. It also prevents the sweat from getting caught with body hair. So, the first thing to do of you are experiencing smelly armpits is to shave.
Exfoliating shower gel
Shower gels that have little exfoliating beads in them are excellent for combating body odours. Rub in areas prone to odour like the armpits, neckline and hairline.
Keep your system hydrated
Drinking lot of water, favourable with lemon can also help prevent body odour. One of the reasons why we stink is because the body releases certain unabsorbed toxins in the form of sweat. Water helps with digestion and also controls sweat to a great extent. You should drink about 10-12 glasses of water each day for staying healthy and keeping fresh.
Shower daily
Yet again, this must be an obvious tip but unfortunately most people miss the importance of it. No amount of essential oils or expensive deodorants can be a substitute for cleansing your entire body with soap and water. Most importantly, make sure to wash your hair at least thrice a week since it entraps a lot of sweat and odour.
Change clothes
For extremely hot days, it is ideal to carry and extra piece of t-shirt you can change into after the one you gave been wearing all days gets stinky with sweat. And also spray some perfume to your washed clothes for smelling good.
These are some of the best solutions that you can opt for in order to get rid of body odour but you have to use it multiple times to get better results.
