Alum controls the bacterial growth through its antiseptic and astringent properties. Wash your food thoroughly with alum powder mixed warm water. Soon after 10 minutes dry the feet and dust a small amount of alum powder. Do this process for once in a day for a few weeks to get the desired results.
Epsom salt reduces the feet smell and fights against microbial infections. This can neutralize your foot odor, which is very easy to do at home. It helps in detoxifying foot bath with Epsom salt for soothing or aching feet. Mix two teaspoons of Epsom salt in a half bucket of warm water. Soak feet in the mixture for about 10 – 15 minutes. Do this before you go to bed, as you won’t wear shoes or socks for few hours.
Keep your feet in the solution prepared from two tablespoons of vinegar and a half bucket of warm water. Let them sit for 10 to 15 minutes and then wash your feet with a moisturizing soap in order to punch away the vinegar smell. Remember to not use apple cider vinegar for this treatment.
Spread baking soda in your shoes and socks before going to wear them. Baking soda, which is a sodium bicarbonate has the capacity to kill the bacteria that are promoting sweating and odor. It can neutralize the sweat pH level by which odor will calm down. Also try keeping your feet in a half bucket warm water that is added with baking soda, leave them for 15 minutes and pat it dry. Take two tea bags and boil them in four cups of water, now add this solution to a half bucket of water and soak your foot for 15 minutes. The tannic acid present in the black tea fights with the sweat causing bacteria and controls the promotion of sweat. It also reduces the odor causing bacteria intelligently through closing the pores of the feet.
Sugar scrub removes dead skin cells and helps to eliminate foot odor. It can contribute to smelly feet. Regularly use a scrubber to clean your feet that can prevent the formation of calluses. Take sugar and mix it with clean water and isopropyl alcohol of 91% or above. Use more sugar than water in order to create a thick mixture. As for isopropyl alcohol, you can use one part of it with five parts of water.
Alternatively, use scrub to clean your feet with the mixture for 5 – 10 minutes. It helps to remove dead skin cells and bacteria. Then, wash your feet. For better results, soak your feet in warm water before using this sugar scrub.
You may also develop smelly feet due to calluses. So use a fine scrubber to reduce calluses, clean your feet and to retain them healthy and odor free. Mix sugar with isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. Make sure the amount of sugar must be higher than the water to get the thick scrubbing paste. Mix all the three ingredients together and scrub it on your foot for 5-10 minutes. This process will help to remove dead skin cells and fungus that was developed early.
Borax is well known as a disinfectant, it can save your foot from developing that foul smell. The dust borax powder inside your shoes or hit the borax spray and wear shoes after you notice the disappearance of borax.
Ginger is an effective home remedy for your foot smell. It inhibits bacterial growth and removes toxins. Take a ginger root and make a puree out of the medium sized ginger root. Steep them into puree for a cup of hot water. Leave it for 10 – 15 minutes. You can also use a coffee filter to strain the solution. Use the smooth liquid to massage your feet each night before going to bed. Repeat the process daily for two weeks for best results.
