In case you have acne spots that are painful to you, trust that applying a little witch hazel on the affected area can help to sooth the pain. Although the pimple will not disappear just then, but it will help you to feel a lot better.
For the acne spots, dad some witch hazel on a cotton ball and place this against your acne spots. Hold it in the same place for about five mins. Do this at least once in a day regularly, until you see your acne spots vanishing!
Use it as a toner (Witch Hazel, vitamin C & lavender essential oil)
This homemade toner using witch hazel has astringent and healing properties that will help to make your skin lighter and clearer and aid in fading away your acne spots. It smells great too!
Simply mix half a teaspoon of vitamin C powder, with one fourth cup of witch hazel extract, and add about six drops of lavender essential oil to it. Then store it in a small glass bottle (preferably dark brown in colour) and use it everyday as a toner to see quick results. Remember that you should use this quantity within a week or else the Vitamin C will oxidize and become useless.
An alternative toner (Witch Hazel, tea tree oil & rose water)
In a bowl, mix five tablespoons of witch hazel extract, one cup of distilled water, five drops of tea tree oil and half a cup of rose water. Stir properly to mix all the ingredients together, and then pour the solution in a spray bottle. Apply this as a toner everyday to see quick results.
All the ingredients work together to reduce acne and acne scars effectively.
The lemon juice mix
We all know lemon for its astringent and acne-fighting properties. It is popular because it can lighten tan as well as scars thanks to its acidic nature.
All you have to do is squeeze out the juice from a lemon and add a tablespoon of witch hazel to it. Then add about six drops of water to the solution and stir well. Saturate a cotton ball in this and apply on the acne-affected parts. Let it stay for half an hour, then rinse it off with normal water.
The one with rose water
Rose water has innumerable benefits for the skin. From healing inflammation to redness of skin, to fighting acne, eczema and dermatitis, rose water is one powerful skin care ingredient! When mixed with Witch Hazel, it works like magic to solve acne woes.
Take a spray bottle, and pour about 12-15 drops of winter bloom and blend it with 6 drops of water. Shake the spray bottle well. Now spray the solution on your pimple-affected areas or use a cotton ball alternatively. Let it dry by itself. Do not touch your skin in the meanwhile. After about 20 minutes, rinse your face with water.
It has been found in some rare cases that application of witch hazel has caused skin inflammation in some people, which has worsened their acne problem. In case you face the same issue, do discontinue using it. Also, remember that you should not consume witch hazel orally. Apart from these two things, ‘winter bloom’ is completely safe to use. Go ahead, try it, and experience beautiful looking skin!
